Let's get this out of the way. I don't like it when daylight savings time ends. Quite honestly, I abhor this getting dark early business. The one lone bright spot? I love to play on the bike with lights. I always have. I also have a problem with outdoor jackets, I can't get enough of them, but that's another story for another day. Back to the lights....
I get the "what is that?" question all of the time when I'm out on the Yuba cargo bike. When it gets dark early and I have the lights-on, really pushing the funk-o-meter dial up, I get even more questions and comments. It gets noticed. Nobody misses it, and isn't that the point? When you're riding in the dark that is, you want to be noticed. It keeps you safe. That's my story anyhow, and I'm sticking to it!
It's great fun to decorate your bike for the season (or for no reason at all) with lights and a great way for some self-expression. Themes? Halloween, oh yeah! Christmas, uhhh yeah...it's the standard when it comes to lights! Thanksgiving, Spring, Easter, Fall, and the list goes on. You can find unique themes and ways to make your bike standout in crowd with lights. It's a hoot. The kids love it. Adults love it. People in cars comment and love it. It's a conversation starter.
So don't let the dark keep you inside. Get some lights, get funky, and get out and explore in the dark on your bike.
