What is that? Meet the Yuba Mundo. It's a longtail cargo bike. It's fun and very functional. This is the SUV of bikes. Take your child for a ride, heck take the triplets, your spouse, your extra bikes, groceries, or even the kitchen sink. These bikes can carry significant weight behind the bottom bracket and yet they ride very similarly to a traditional bike. Unloaded, you hardly notice it's a longtail. Loaded up, the bike rides much the same you just burn more calories! Load up the panniers, strap stuff to the upper deck, the lower deck and anywhere else you can find. Worried about the hills? It's very doable, but electric assist is an option, as is good ol' fashioned walking. Just like an SUV, this bike isn't about speed. Yuba offers several cargo options including step-through frame designs and the Boda Boda which is also a long tail, just less long. Looking for a bike to get your little one riding? Yuba has you covered there as well with the flip flop balance style bike that grows with your child with a reversible frame. Give me a shout and take one out for a test ride! You'll have a perma-grin and the dream of endless possibilities will begin...
Need some spice in your life?
The Spicy Curry sports an electric pedal assist to spice up your life and make you feel superhuman! Say bye-bye to your car, it's that awesome. You can pick your level of assist from off to level 4, which will assist you up to 20mph! Never question whether you can make that hill or if you have the legs for another trip or a longer one than usual. The Currie Tech battery has a range of up to 35 miles. The Spicy Curry by Yuba bikes has a smaller 20-inch rear wheel to bring the center of gravity lower for easier handling. It also has increased stand over height with the dropped top tube and hydraulic disc brakes for the reliable stopping power. The Spicy has numerous option add-ons to haul kids, as you see in the picture to the right, or put the carry on extension to form a flat bed, pair with the 2-go cargo bags for grocery hauling, and of course the breadbasket up front for hauling up of 50lbs of whatever you can throw in there! There are countless ways to set-up your new family adventure vehicle.
It is super versatile and set up to slay the hills with the biggest loads you're brave enough to try! Join the cargo bike revolution with an electric boost!
~more miles, more smiles
The Boda Boda is referred to as the compact or small bike in the Yuba line-up. I think it's best described as the perfect bike for everyday use. It's step through frame design means it can fit a wide variety of users. It's lightweight. At 35lbs it's well within the typical range of cruisers/townies, so it's equally at home simply riding the greenways and neighborhood with the kids as it is with cargo on the back. Think of it as a standard townie type of bike with a built in rear rack. When you want to use the rack, it's there and can hold 220lbs of payload (including children!), but it's not in the way when you don't need it. Besides it's smaller overall stature making it a nimble ride, it also makes it bike rack friendly and easier to store and handle.
Flip Flop Balance Bike
The Flip Flop is a balance bike. There are no pedals and best of all, no training wheels. Yuba states this is for ages 1-6, so practically as soon as your little one can reach the ground from the saddle, you can get them going on a bike. The design lets kids comfortably learn by scooting around with their feet on the ground. As they get more comfortable they pick up their feet and take gliding strides where they balance in between and then gradually they transition to pushing and lifting their feet entirely or finding a hill to rip. This teaches balance in a safe and comfortable environment making the transition to a pedal bike so much easier, and no bulky training wheels!
So what's with the name anyhow? Well, glad you asked. The Flip Flop is a flippable frame, so when the younsters are tiny, the frame has lower standover, and as the grow, you flip the frame to raise the bike up giving your little grom more comfortable time on the bike.
Now available in Giraffe, Cow, and Lime Green. They retail for $159 with the saddle bags, $120 without and let me just tell you, the saddlebags are super cool for the little cyclists. They love to pack their own stuff and be just like mom and dad.
