If I'm not on the bike often enough, I am a grump. It's certainly not on purpose, but my wife will tell you, if I've not been on the bike in a couple of days...watchout! The first step is admitting there is a problem. Right?
It doesn't have to be a long trail ride or a multi hour road ride, although that is certainly welcomed! It can be messing around on the trials bike for 20 minutes, riding the neighborhood with my girls, or one of the best ways to sneak in bike time, run errands and replace vehicle trips with bike trips. I continue to try and find more and more ways to integrate bikes into daily life. It really does "shed the monster".
It may not be quite so pronounced on the rest of my family, but I notice a more laid back vibe with everyone when we cruise into town for dinner and ice cream (can't pass that up, right?) or run to the library or any number of care replacing errands. Bikes make you feel good, that's all there is to it.
As I frequently say, more miles~more smiles. Go get ya' some smiles!
Rider or is it writer?
My name is Adam Harris. I'm a lifelong cyclist. I love bikes. All types of bikes. I hope I can relay the joy that cycling provides me through glimpses into my thoughts and some of my mini adventures.
